Burscough based Divine Days have been awarded £1000 in January 2017 from Heath and Well-being Grant from Lancashire County Council Awards towards their sessions.
Divine Days Creative Arts CIC was set up to make the Arts accessible to all – they run various creative workshops including Music, Dance, Creative Art and Relaxation.
They Creative Dance groups for adults with additional needs perform in schools delivering interactive workshops to raise awareness and promote inclusion and acceptance. They also offer Creative Workshops for schools to explore themes around Health and Wellbeing and self expression.
They also run a Community Connections project which allows the elderly to try activities they used to enjoy and to sample new activities. The elderly can be isolated in terms of where they live. They often lack the ability to access activities they used to enjoy without help. The Community Connections project allows for the elderly to try activities they used to enjoy with support and also to try new ones. This project allows them to take part in an activity which they may not have previously experienced. The activities will improve their mental health and wellbeing by raising their levels of confidence and self-esteem. The activities will bring about a sense of belonging and community.
